About Me

In the fall of 2018, I left at the height of my career in China to pursue my doctoral study in Communication in the United States. Not that I was dissatisfied with my career, on the contrary, I have fond memories of the great students, colleagues, and exceptionally valuable experiences I had when I was a tenure track faculty member at Beijing Foreign Studies University. However, I believe the meaning of life should not be restricted to what has happened in one’s life, but what has not. I believe a person should not be defined by his or her age, gender, or background, but by the courage, passion, and endeavor to always improve oneself and pursue what is meant for a truly worthwhile life.
In the summer of 2024, I completed my Ph.D. degree with invaluable experiences in communication, culture, and media studies. With deep appreciation for the love and support from faculty members and fellow Jayhawks at the University of Kansas, I am now ready to embark on the next step of my professional journey through academia. I look forward to serving for upcoming students, connecting with new colleagues, continuing to build my body of research, and to supporting the
betterment of my community.
